On April 4, 2022, the Adoption Council of Ontario launched a new Centralized Adoption Intake website and service, funded by the Ministry of Community, Children and Social Services, to support hopeful adoptive caregivers on their adoption journey. The service includes a website with information about adopting in Ontario, including the different types of adoption, the adoption process, and who can adopt. It also includes perspectives on adoption from young people and adoptive parents. In addition to the website, a dedicated intake team is available to support prospective adoptive caregivers with understanding what to expect out of the process and how to prepare their application.
