Understanding Legislation and Sharing Practice – March 2013 webinar and resources

Over the last year, OACAS and the child welfare field have been developing a strategy via the OACAS Adoption Openness Advisory Committee to orient child welfare professionals, private adoption practitioners and CAS and family lawyers about the changes in the Child and Family Services Act related to openness in adoption provisions.

On March 22, 2013, an orientation webinar was held to outline the changes in the CFSA related to openness in adoption and to answer practice questions from a variety of perspectives through a multi-disciplinary expert panel. Following an orientation presentation led by Melanie Verreault, the expert panel included Michael Blugerman, patti cross, Elisabeth McCarty, Vanessa Milley, Mira Pilch, Honourable Justice Geraldine Waldman, and Dorothy Watson.
